Business Need / Purpose of Role

Weir Canada, Inc. is looking to add an additional resource, a Human Resources Business Partner for Western Canada. 

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

  • Manages the corporate recruiting function. Recruits, interviews, tests, and selects employees to fill vacant positions
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
  • Co-ordinate and support internal and external recruitment activities for the Oil & Gas locations in western Canada
  • Liaise with Weir Canada HR Department in Montreal and Oil & Gas division
  • Perform reporting requirements of the Oil & Gas division
  • Responsible for monitoring appropriate wage administration elements throughout assigned company functions to ensure the attraction, retention and motivation of qualified employees and to ensure compliance with relevant company policies
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring the development and maintenance of monthly statistical reports
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications


Bachelor's degree with three to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six to eight years’ practical experience in a technically related manufacturing environment with specific experience in recruiting and generalist Human Resources responsibilities


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk on even and uneven surfaces. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.  Expectation of walking, sitting and standing. Work Environment:

Must be able to wear steel toed safety shoes and safety glasses. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
