As part of one of the top 6 pump manufacturers in the world, Weir Minerals - a division of Weir Canada Inc. – operates in markets including power generation, oil/gas, water and sewage, mining and minerals processing and pulp & paper. Prior management or supervisory experience within a fast-paced finance and accounting department. University graduate in Business Administration (Finance Focus) or Commerce and minimum of ten (10) years of related, progressive experience. Accounting Designation REQUIRED. A good mix of cost accounting and general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Must be able to maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as required by law. Excellent self-motivation, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Excellent computer skills along with literacy with Microsoft Excel and Word software are required. Strong knowledge of ERP or SAP or Movex accounting software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while producing high quality, accurate, and meticulous work. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision as well as within a team is essential.
