Weir Minerals Canada requires a Millwright with experience with rotating equipment to join our growing team, responsible for assembly, repair, and overhaul of pumps, and other rotating mineral processing equipment. Both registered apprentices and journeyman Millwrights will be considered depending on specific job requirements.
Health & Safety : Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
A Red Seal or Journeyman Millwright, with experience with assembly, repair, and overhaul of pumps and mechanical rotating equipment is required. Must have at least 5 years experience in a post-apprenticeship role.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, engineering drawings, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute and understand ratio, rate, percent and to draw/interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area, circumference, and volume, as required in interpretation of engineering drawings.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations, Special Skills:
Millwright Ticket or equivalent certification, or registered as an apprentice.
Employee must be able to work while standing and/or sitting, and occasionally lifting equipment of up to 25 lbs. Ability to handle mechanical tools and measuring devices is required. Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required in designated locations.
Environment may vary from moderate (warehouse/light traffic environment) to loud (manufacturing plant /customer-sites).
