Weir Canada, Inc. is looking for a summer student for a temporary Accounts Payable Clerk position. A highly self-motivated individual is required to contribute to accounts payable by assisting the team with processing high volumes of invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
The incumbent will be responsible for processing all invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner. Duties include but are not limited to:

Currently enrolled in an educational program related to Finance and Accounting. A good understanding of general accounting. Prior experience in Accounts Payable in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
Excellent self-motivation, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while maintaining excellent composure and producing high quality, accurate, and meticulous work. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision as well as within a team is essential. Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Must be able to maintain a high level of ethical behaviour and confidentiality of information as required by law.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and financial reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts and data relevant to financial statements, including ratio and calculations such as interest, proportions, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, including literacy with Microsoft Excel and Word software are required. Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is an asset).

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
The incumbent will operate within a generally quiet office environment, with light to moderate traffic and noise disturbances. If required, occasional visits to manufacturing sites will require appropriate PPE.
