    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    Maintain quality standards and ensure quality assurance in products manufactured or repaired.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    Objectives:

    • Inspect products manufactured or processed to ensure compliance with specifications including, but not limited to, API Q1, API 6A and DNV
    • Ability and willingness to complete non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection processes including magnetic particle, dye penetrate, ultra-sonic testing and others.  This may include grinding of visual defects as part of the NDT inspection processes.  Employee must be willing to maintain training and accreditation for required NDT processes. 
    • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurements tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable (non-compliance) materials
    • Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company’s quality control system for compliance with legal requirements and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards 
    • Ability to use inspection tools and gauges including indicators, digital and manual calipers, micrometers, coordinate measurement machines, and other equipment necessary to validate the quality of a product 
    • Ability read and interpret engineering drawings 
    • Submits samples of product to laboratory for testing as indicated by department procedures 
    • Stamps mark of approval or rejection on product and writes report of examinations
    • Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurements tests and communicating required adjustments to production supervisors
    • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurements tests and returning products for re-work, confirming re-work
    • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste
    • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by ensuring SoP’s and PWI’s are being followed and comply with
      regulations and standards
    • Examines company’s records to secure such information as size and weight of product and results of quality tests. These records will include physical inspection results, metallurgical results, and certifications of compliance and supplier non-conforming reports.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:                                            

    Quality Assurance certificate and/or Five to seven years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience with First Articles required.

     

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

     

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    Computer Skills:

    Microsoft Office; including Excel
