    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    The Senior Financial Analyst will support both the Director of FP&A and the Controller. The position will work closely with the accounting team during the month-end process. He/she will own the accounting, reporting, budgeting and analysis for the CAVA line of business within the organization. He/she will also own the CAPEX reporting and analysis for the organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will be tasked with solving operational finance issues that impact results.  They will work to understand the key drivers of each department and become a trusted partner to the business. The position requires someone with the ability to work through ambiguity and not be afraid to ask questions.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

    • Full cycle close and forecasting for CAVA business unit
    • Act as the finance liaison on all CAVA matters
    • Reconcile and analyze Fixed Assets. Includes maintaining approved CAPEX forms, CIP Tracker and involvement in CAPEX approval process
    • Reconcile Sales and Cost of Sales for month-end close.
    • Prepare month-end upload files for Input/Output/Gross Margin for COGNOS.
    • Prepare journal entries for Intercompany Mark-up.
    • Manage and follow-up on intercompany differences in COGNOS for forecast and actuals.
    • Maintain and run rolling actuals file.
    • Run Daily Sales report.
    • P&L variance and Overhead Analysis
    • Assist in performing quarterly forecasts and yearly budgets as well as preparing analyses and reports on forecast results.

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications


    Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Finance role in an operational environment.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce or Finance. Accounting designation is a strong asset.  A good mix of cost accounting and general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.


    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


    Communication Skills:

    Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential in both French and English.  Must be able to maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as required by law. Excellent self-motivation, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.


    Computer Skills:

    Excellent computer skills along with literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint software are required.  Experience with Cognos, TM1 or SAP are assets.

    Work Environment:

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while producing high quality, accurate, and meticulous work.  Ability to work independently under minimal supervision as well as within a team is essential.
