    Business Need / Purpose of Role

    Position requirements include ensuring resin dryers are loaded with material at all times. Also this position requires safe operation of forklift and overhead crane to move resins to appropriate work areas and storage. As well a good understanding of sucker rod grades, different resins and rod guide designs.

    Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities


    • Supply injection molders with resins and sucker rod components
    • Prepare rods for cleaning system prior to injection molding
    • Ensure raw resins are dried to proper temperature as well as proper time
    • Perform material changes as required, clean material grinders, loaders and filters
    • Work according to First in First out methodology
    • Confers with technical personnel and managers/supervisors to report and resolve assembly and testing problems, and reports unresolved problems
    • Notify Production Manager when resins are running low so that they can be re-ordered
    • Put away finished and semi - finished goods to proper storage locations or designated areas
    • Movement of materials to/from workstations and proper storage locations
    • Verifies that proper resins are being used as per work order
    • Substitutes for absent workers and assists workers to alleviate work overload situations
    • Performs cycle counts and inventories for all resins
    • Ensure resins are properly identified
    • Driving Duties as assigned
    • Knowledge of Weir Seaboard Products and Customer Requirements
    • Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work area
    • Monitors daily work activities to ensure requirements are met
    • Performs other routine duties

    Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience: High School diploma with 3 – 5 years and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.


    Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one to one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees in the organization.


    Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs.


    Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to interpret schematic drawings, procedure changes and work orders.


    Other Skills: Must have mechanical aptitude.

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close, distance, colour and peripheral vision.


    Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The nose level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel toed safety shoes and safety glasses are required in most areas of the facility.
